Henar García (Catalonia, Spain) is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Luxembourg. Her practice moves between cameras, stages, and productions with the same natural rhythm rooted in her years of training in contemporary dance and studies in photography and cultural production. For as long as she can remember, art has been her tool for understanding the world.

During her residency at neimënster, Henar will develop Bodies Under Observation, a research born from a personal question : how we see, how we are seen, and how the gaze of others affects us.
Intersecting analog photography, movement and spatial interventions, the room itself becomes an active dialogue.
Every human body is an unexplored territory shaped by the eyes that look at it. This project aims to explore the gaze, yours, that of others, and the templates already defined and how these perspectives can distort, redefine, or heal the way we see ourselves. How do we position ourselves when looking at another body? Is it an act of intimacy, judgment, vulnerability, or protection?
Bodies Under Observation aims to be an ongoing conversation. A research to create a shared space that wants to open new doors, giving us the possibility of having more possibilities.

Henar García (Catalogne, Espagne) est une artiste multidisciplinaire actuellement installée au Luxembourg. Sa pratique oscille entre caméras, scènes et productions avec un rythme naturel qui trouve ses racines dans ses années de formation en danse contemporaine et ses études en photographie et en production culturelle. D’aussi loin qu’elle se souvienne, l’art a toujours été son outil pour comprendre le monde.

Au cours de sa résidence au neimënster, Henar développera Bodies Under Observation, une recherche née d’une question personnelle : comment nous voyons, comment nous sommes vus, et comment le regard des autres nous affecte.
À la croisée de la photographie analogique, du mouvement et des interventions spatiales, l’espace lui-même devient un dialogue actif.
Chaque corps humain est un territoire inexploré façonné par les yeux qui le regardent. Ce projet vise à explorer le regard, le vôtre, celui des autres, ainsi que les schémas déjà définis, et la manière dont ces perspectives peuvent déformer, redéfinir ou guérir la façon dont nous nous percevons. Comment nous positionnons-nous lorsque nous regardons un autre corps ? S’agit-il d’un acte d’intimité, de jugement, de vulnérabilité ou de protection ?
Bodies Under Observation se veut une conversation en cours. Une recherche visant à créer un espace partagé qui souhaite ouvrir de nouvelles portes, nous offrant ainsi la possibilité d’avoir davantage de possibilités.
