On the occasion of the inauguration of rooms named in honour of Luxembourgish figures in the historical, artistic and social fields, neimënster proposes a series of conferences entitled Eclaireur.ses devoted to the discovery of these destinies, markers of their time and architects of important social advances.
On the programme for this third evening:
Arriving in Luxembourg at the end of the eighteenth century, the Godchaux family was to be at the origin of an innovative industrial and social upheaval that would project the country into a new economic space.
By Claude Marx
Lawyer, journalist, sportsman and municipal politician, Michel Delvaux has left an important mark on Luxembourg's contemporary history. From the outset, he has been committed to the rights of immigrants and minorities, and has devoted himself at municipal level to the fields of ecology, the family and urban planning. He was a legal adviser to the OGBL and a founding member of ASTI, and quickly rose through the ranks of the LSAP. Appreciated for his qualities as a lawyer, he was appointed by the Minister of State Pierre Werner to the commission of experts for the revision of the constitution.
