2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alain Robbe-Grillet (1922-2008), writer, screenwriter and director, inventor and French theorist of the Nouveau Roman. This event will be celebrated in France, and in many other countries, by the organization of retrospectives of his cinematographic work, colloquia and exhibitions, as well as re-publications and, hopefully, the publication of his complete works in the Bibliothèque de la Pléiade. Benoît Peeters, one of the greatest Robbe-Grillet specialists, will publish a new biography of the author in September 2022 with Flammarion, which will also be a history of the Nouveau Roman. During this event he will present, in a conversation with Tonia Raus, this great biography dedicated to the French writer. "Alain Robbe-Grillet (1922-2008) disturbed, fascinated, exasperated. He provoked more hateful articles than any of his contemporaries. But he knew how to turn around the most hostile critics and cultivate the interest of the most brilliant commentators, starting with Barthes, Blanchot and Foucault.
