Le 23 juillet 2018 est une date importante pour Oxana Chatchko : c’est le vernissage à Paris de ses icônes blasphématoires. Débute alors une longue déambulation à travers la ville. Entre ses amants, une journaliste, un rendez-vous pour un titre de séjour, les souvenirs de son passé de militante Femen refont surface et, avec eux, les trahisons et traumatismes subis. La journée avance et Oxana s’enfonce dans un passé auquel elle ne peut échapper. Parviendra-t-elle à retrouver la fougue nécessaire pour continuer à vivre ?

Oxana Chatchko n’était pas la plus médiatique des opposantes au pouvoir russe. Ni même la plus médiatique des Femen. Mais elle en était peut-être la représentante la plus brillante, la plus artiste, et certainement la plus radicale dans ses prises de position. En 2015, neimënster a eu l’honneur de la recevoir dans le cadre du Luxembourg City Film Festival. Elle avait été invitée à participer à la projection du documentaire I am Femen, réalisée par Alain Margot. En 2025, pour célébrer sa mémoire et ses luttes de toujours, neimënster et le LuxFilmFest (06.03 – 16.03) présenteront le biopic Oxana, de Charlène Favier, qui retrace la vie de cette femme exceptionnelle. Son décès prématuré en 2018 a laissé un vide immense. Née en 1987 en Ukraine, Oxana Chatchko s’intéresse très jeune au dessin et se passionne pour les icônes religieuses orthodoxes. Dès 2008, elle participe aux premières actions des Femen, quand elles ne sont pas encore seins nus. De toutes, c’est Oxana Chatchko qui restera une des plus proches de la pureté originelle du projet, défendant un mouvement de guerilla-communication, anarcho-féministe. Éloignée du mouvement suite à des dissensions internes, Oxana Chatchko a contribué à la popularité du groupe, portant au coeur de l’actualité des combats féministes.

Charlène Favier, née en 1985 à Bourg-Saint-Maurice, est une réalisatrice et scénariste française. Elle grandi en Savoie, où elle s’initie au ski de compétition avant de se tourner vers le cinéma. Après des études à l’EICAR et à la Prague Film School, elle réalise Slalom (2020), un drame sur les abus sexuels dans le sport, sélectionné au Festival de Cannes. En 2023, elle adapte pour Arte le roman La Fille qu’on appelle de Tanguy Viel . Elle revient en 2024 avec un biopic sur Oksana Chatchko, une des fondatrices du mouvement FEMEN.

July 23, 2018. An important date for ex-FEMEN leader Oxana Chatchko – the opening of her exhibition of blasphemous icons. So begins a day of wandering across Paris. Amidst encounters with lovers and an art critic, and an appointment to confirm her political refugee status, memories of her past as a feminist activist, and the traumas and betrayals suffered during her fight, resurface. Can she reawaken her desire to live?

Oxana Chatchko was not the most high-profile opponent of the Russian government. Nor even the most public Femen. But she was perhaps its most brilliant representative, the most artistic, and certainly the most radical in her stance. In 2015, neimënster had the honour of welcoming her as part of the Luxembourg City Film Festival. She was invited to take part in the screening of the documentary I am Femen, directed by Alain Margot. In 2025, to celebrate her memory and her lifelong struggles, neimënster and the LuxFilmFest (06.03 – 16.03) will present the biopic Oxana, by Charlène Favier, which retraces the life of this exceptional woman. Her untimely death in 2018 has left a huge void. Born in Ukraine in 1987, Oxana Chatchko took an interest in drawing from an early age, and developed a passion for Orthodox religious icons. From 2008, she took part in the first Femen actions, when they were not yet topless. Of them all, Oxana Chatchko remains one of the closest to the original purity of the project, defending a guerrilla-communication, anarcho-feminist movement. Oxana Chatchko, who was removed from the movement following internal dissension, contributed to the group’s popularity, bringing feminist struggles to the forefront of current affairs.
