Holocaust survivor and writer of Her Name Shall Remain Unforgotten, Marion Deichmann has shared her story and that of her mother all over the world. Fleeing persecution under the Nazi regime, Deichmann’s mother Alice Deichmann was arrested in July 1942 during the Vél d’Hiv roundup in Paris and deported to Drancy and later to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Deichmann never saw her mother again but devoted her life to advocating against intolerance. Most recently, she decided to share her story in the virtual reality film Letters from Drancy, which will be exhibited in the VR Pavilion.
Before fleeing to Paris, Deichmann spend part of her childhood in Luxembourg. In conversation with the historian and Associate Professor at the University of Luxembourg Prof Denis Scuto, Deichmann will speak about her life and the tragic fate of her mother.
