Gilad Ashery (31, Jerusalem) is an interdisciplinary young artist who focuses mainly on site specific installation, sculpture and performance.

Ashery has been living and creating in temporary studios in desolated villages. Through these conditions and his past work as an archeological excavator he finds inspiration in nature, countrysides, forests, caves and in the rich (albeit bloody and muddy) human history. This has led him to develop an interest in the temporality of perception, materials and subjects.

Currently Ashery is living and working between Paris, Vienna and Jerusalem and is developing a highly sensual earth oriented body of works.

Ashery was selected for the thematic call for applications – Disruption: The Imprint of Man. 

For which he proposed to further research muddy landscapes and drafts of worlds.

Gilad Ashery (31 ans, Jérusalem) est un jeune artiste interdisciplinaire qui se concentre principalement sur l’installation, la sculpture et la performance.

Ashery vit et crée dans des studios temporaires situés dans des villages désolés. Grâce à ces conditions et à son passé de fouilleur archéologique, il trouve son inspiration dans la nature, les campagnes, les forêts, les grottes et dans la riche (bien que sanglante et boueuse) histoire de l’humanité. Cela l’a amené à s’intéresser à la temporalité de la perception, des matériaux et des sujets.

Actuellement, Ashery vit et travaille entre Paris, Vienne et Jérusalem et développe un ensemble d’œuvres très sensibles et orientées vers la terre.

Ashery a été sélectionnée pour l’appel à candidatures thématique – Disruption : L’empreinte de l’homme. 
Il a proposé d’approfondir ses recherches sur les paysages boueux et les ébauches de mondes.
