The CinEast festival, the annual celebration of Central and Eastern European cinema and culture, will be back in October with a vibrant array of film screenings and special events. Its 16th edition will feature a varied selection of recent films of all genres, as well as concerts, exhibitions, debates and special events. This year the festival shines a spotlight on Ukraine while exploring the theme of “Adaptations”. neimënster will host the festival’s opening ceremony as well as numerous screenings of fiction and documentary features, short film programmes and the traditional Kids Show for the youngest cinema-lovers. Festival-goers will be able to meet many guests, take part in debates and enjoy the extensive photography exhibition “Adaptations”. Music lovers ought not to miss the (ciné-) concert of the Obradovic-Tixier Duo as part of our Sunday morning Jazz concerts Pause. The Polish jazz band  Skalpel will also be part of our Forward series. They draw inspiration from Polish jazz from the 1960s and 1970s and contemporary hip hop.
